Ruby Francis’ Nubian Songs is the real-life portrait of an extraordinary elder living in Shepherd’s Bush and the Day Centre she attends for those of African and Caribbean heritage, Nubian Life. Nubian Life care for over 60 elderly clients whom include former Master Builders, an MBE awardee, one of Ladbroke Grove’s first steel pan players, and the Great-Grandfather of Premiership football players.

Ruby Francis’ Nubian Songs, is about identity, resilience and a place to call home from home. The film is to be entered for festivals next year and travel to schools around Shepherd’s Bush.

We had our private launch filming at The Bush Theatre ans were thrilled to welcome the following speakers during the event:
